Differentiated Learning

This project allows for differentiated instruction throughout the process. Not only can students read books on their level, but they now also have web resources that are also at their reading level.

As each of the first two phases are begun with a KWL chart, students will be able to access prior knowledge and structure their learning.

Struggling students will have the opportunity to work with peers either in heterogeneous or homogeneous groups, to allow the teacher to scaffold support and intervention.

In the mastery project, students can work independently, with partners or in small groups to allow for the pacing necessary for the class and needs of the students.

For English Language and Dual Language Learners, students can write on the topic in both languages: one language on the left side of the page and one language on the right. For dual-sided printing, use heavier paper to accomodate the extra ink. Since their voices are recorded and will be heard on the web by family and friends near and afar, students will often times spend more time practicing their diction and inflection.
