Differentiated Learning

This project allows for differentiated instruction throughout the process. Students read books and have access to web resources on their level.  In additon, students have oportunites to demonstrate their understanding of content through the use of pictures, charts, graphs and verbal presentations.  This collaboration of skills will be showcased online to reinforce their learning.

As each of the first two phases are begun with a KWL chart, students will be able to access prior knowledge and structure their learning.

Struggling students will have the opportunity to work with peers either in heterogeneous or homogeneous groups, to allow the teacher to scaffold support and intervention.

In the mastery project, students can work independently, with partners or in small groups to allow for the pacing necessary for the class and needs of the students.

For English Language and Dual Language Learners, students can write and speak on the topic in both languages, to reinforce their native language skills, while extending their acquisition of their new language.
