Multi-disciplinary Inquiry-based Projects for the 21st Century Collaborative Classroom

iSite: Digital Documentaries to Engage Students in all Content Areas

Differentiated Learning

This project allows for differentiated instruction throughout the process. Students read books and have access to web resources on their level.  In additon, students have oportunites to demonstrate their understanding of content through the use of visual media - pictures, charts, graphs, verbal narration and a movie presentation.  This collaboration of skills will be showcased online to reinforce their learning.

Struggling students will have the opportunity to work with peers either in heterogeneous or homogeneous groups, to allow the teacher to scaffold support and intervention.

For this project, students can work independently, with partners or in small groups to allow for the pacing necessary for the class and needs of the students.

For English Language and Dual Language Learners, students can present their videos in both languages, to reinforce their native language skills, while extending their acquisition of their new language.
