Greetings!
Below is an invitation for our FIRST team members to learn more about Wakamaru, a little robot made by Mitsubishi and currently on an "internship" with a New York City Company! A small team of Wakamaru handlers is being recruited. FIRST team members are invited to apply! Please consider passing this invitation on to your team members, for whom this might be a wonderful experience or perhaps community service credits!
Regards,
Ana L Martinez

Subject: Robotics Assistants Needed ASAP for New York-Tokyo wakamaru project!
Dear Ana Lucia Martinez,
I'm writing to you on behalf of New York-Tokyo, a company tasked with bringing all ends of Japanese media to the US, from games to film to, in this case, robots. Over the years, my boss, Taeko Baba, has worked on many robotics shows, most notably our Tokyo Robotics festival. Our current robotics project, however, is something especially unique: the inaugural US run of Mitsubishi's humanoid robot, wakamaru. You can read about the ongoing event, located at Uniqlo's flagship store in Soho, on our blog at:
http://www.newyork-tokyo.com/wp/wakamaru-usa/
For more information on wakamaru, please go to:
http://www.mhi.co.jp/kobe/wakamaru/english/know/index.html
Wakamaru has been popular as a communications robot and event companion over in Japan. To ensure the same popularity in the US, our company is currently recruiting robotics enthusiasts to be part of a small team of robot handlers for the project. Team members will learn how to operate wakamaru, and will be expected to maintain it, help Uniqlo customers interact with it, and prevent customers from accidentally damaging the robot. Team members will be expected to come in 1-2 days a week from 3-7PM. All handlers will receive school credit and more importantly, the chance to work firsthand with the flagship robot of a major technology corporation.
As the regional director of FIRST NY, you would be in an ideal position to help spread word of this unique opportunity to the robotics community. Therefore, if you could send this message out to those who could best benefit from this offer, it would be greatly appreciated.
All prospective team members should contact me at david@newyork-tokyo.com and send me an e-mail including:
-name
-contact info(phone, e-mail)
-days available to work
-a brief statement detailing their interest in our project.
-resume(optional) |
