I tried to get my Apple Mail app set up for my DoE email using the same settings that worked successfully on my iPhone, but no luck.

Anyone else had a shot at it?

I think I have a tutorial for that...

... let me poke around and see if I can find it.

If I remember right you have to make sure you put "Central" in for the domain and the full email account.

If I can find the directions I'll post them...

(as an aside, I thought Snow Leopard wasn't released to the DoE yet Wink )

Yeah, I did the Central domain thing, but I haven't tried it since my original attempt.

This was on my personal MacBook Smile

This is how it works on an iPhone, did you set yours up this way? It might help in setting up on Snow Leopard (it might not, it definitely works for the iPhone, haven't had a chnce to try it on the full OS)

Quote:

Open the mail icon from the main screen and select Microsoft Exchange.

Step 2
Enter the information as shown below. You may see a certificate error, simply press “accept” to continue.

Step 3

A new field called “Server” should now appear. Type in mail.nycboe.net

Step 4
It will take a few seconds for your email to download.

Step 5 (optional)
You may want to adjust some mail settings. Go to settings then Mail, Contacts, Calendars..

Thanks for the info ... I had it working on my iPhone ('til I disabled it because I decided that I didn't want to read school related email 24/7).

What you described sounds exactly like what I tried ... I'll give it another shot though.

Thanks again.

Hope it worked.

Glad I could help (in theory).
