Borough Instructional Technology Director - Manhattan
Teresa Bader has been involved in the field of instructional technology for over 20 years. Along with her responsibilities as the Manhattan Instructional Technology Director, she is also leading the charge to develop iSite, the Office of Instructional Technology's robust web portal. Ms. Bader has presented at city, state, national, and international conferences and brings to her position a strong background in curriculum, effective instructional strategies, computer science and technology-integration skills.

Amy has served the Department of Education as a teacher, library media specialist, Title IID Grant manager and an Instructional Technology Specialist. Her work with the Manhattan Office of instructional Technology is focused on working with her team to develop and provide professional development inquiry-based curriculum that incorporates successful instructional strategies while integrating technology.

Carol was a District Science Curriculum Coordinator. She is very interested in seeing the School Instructional Technology Liaisons as a Learning Community. She is also convinced of the benefits that an experience with robotics has for students.

Curtis specialized in Early Childhood Special Education while completing his M.Ed. From Bank Street College. He has taught for nearly 20 years in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Middle School. His exposure and interest in technology has been present from the beginning, allowing him to provide support and expertise in the area to children and fellow staff members. His current focus includes blogs, wikis, podcasting, and other "web 2.0" tools in their ability to link and communicate between individuals, neighborhoods, or global learning partners.

Mike Columbia has been in an instructional technology specialist since September '04. Once a professional multimedia developer, his experience in web design helped give wings to a number of online initiatives in Queens and citywide, such as this website. He was once an art teacher for the talented children of PS 79 in the Bronx.

Carolyn has been with the NYC Dept of Education for 16 years. She has been an elementary classroom teacher, a computer teacher, and currently an Instructional Technology Specialist. Her expertise is in integrating technology into the curriculum using current technology tools. She is a firm believer in project-based and multi-disciplinary learning infusing technology to enhance learning and actively engage students.
