Celine Azoulay // cazoula@schools.nyc.gov

Borough Instructional Technology Director - Staten Island/South Brooklyn

As a 10 year veteran of instructional technology programs, Ms. Azoulay has facilitated (forward thinking) [progressive or cutting-edge] initiatives in professional development that support effective integration of instructional technology that focus on increasing professional growth and student achievement. Her experience began as a Director of Technology for Community District 22 and she soon moved to Lead Instructional Technology Specialist for Region 7. Her experience under the Title IID grant, 1:1 computing, immersive gaming and building online learning communities provides a global perspective to programs implemented city wide. She now continues her passion to connect leaders, teachers and students through 21st century programs as the Borough Instructional Technology Director for Staten Island/South Brooklyn.

Borough Instructional Technology Assistant Director - Staten Island/South Brooklyn

Jim McDermott has served the Department of Education as a music teacher and an instructional technology specialist.  He has presented at state, regional, and national education technology conferences on topics such as project based learning, immersive gaming, online learning communities, and technology based curriculum development. As an avid blogger, Mr. McDermott's "Tales of a Technology Omnivore" can be found at http://techomnivore.wordpress.com. His current interests revolve around online learning, web 2.0 tools in the classroom, and his long time passion: feature rich mobile devices.

Allison Sciandra // asciand@schools.nyc.gov

Borough Instructional Technology Assistant Director - Staten Island/South Brooklyn

Allison Sciandra started her career in education in 1989 as a first grade teacher in Brooklyn, NY, where she helped implement Balanced Literacy throughout District 22.  After spending 9 years as a classroom teacher, she continued her passion for teaching reading to “at-risk” students by becoming a Reading Recovery Teacher Leader.  From 1998-2003, she helped teachers become keen observers of their students in order to help every child learn.  Since October, 2004, she has served as an Instructional Technology specialist where she has supervised/coordinated Region 7’s Title IID Grant (EETT).  Today, she continues her work in instructional technology as the Borough Instructional Technology Assistant Director Staten Island/South Brooklyn where she strives to improve instruction by integrating technology into all content areas as well as assisting principals in moving their schools into the 21st century.

Robert Agoglia // ragogli@schools.nyc.gov

Borough Instructional Technology Specialist - Staten Island/South Brooklyn

Robert Agoglia has served the Department of Education as a middle-school math and technology teacher, district technology staff developer, and Title IID Instructional Technology Specialist. He continues to teach high school math at a private yeshiva in Borough Park, Brooklyn. He has also instructed technology at many levels including continuing education program at a local high school. Today, he serves the city as a leading expert in data interpretation and immersive gaming. Although his passion is skiing, Robert keeps himself focused through his yoga study and regular meditation.

Borough Instructional Technology Specialist - Staten Island/South Brooklyn

Vasilia Lambrides is an educator with the Department of Education with over 18 years experience as an Elementary Classroom Teacher, Computer Teacher, Technology Coordinator and Title IID Technology Staff Developer. She is committed to creatively integrating technology into the curriculum to enhance all content areas as well as preparing students, teachers and administrators for the 21st century. She currently works as the Borough Instructional Technology Specialist in South Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Borough Instructional Technology Specialist - Staten Island/South Brooklyn

Denise Lewis has served the Department of Education as a high school English teacher, media specialist, and Title IID Instructional Technology Specialist. She continues to teach English at CUNY. Her areas of expertise are in developing coursework that aligns instruction with 21st century resources and writing grants to fund new and innovative IT projects. She has been invited to present at NECC, FETC and NYSCATE and looks forward to sharing the great work of NYC teachers at upcoming conferences around the world. Deniseís personal interests are traveling to small towns around the world, skiing and listening to fine music.

Susan Scott // sscott2@schools.nyc.gov

Borough Instructional Technology Specialist - Staten Island/South Brooklyn

Susan Scott has worked for over thirty years as a classroom teacher, computer cluster, Technology Staff Developer for District 22, Title IID Technology Staff Developer in the former Region 7, and Instructional Technology Specialists for OIT. As a classroom teacher, she taught Language Arts in middle school and grades 2-5 in elementary school. While on sabbatical in 1994, Susan studied at the New York Institute of Technology and received a certificate in computer technology. In 1996, she wrote the District 22 Core Curriculum in technology for grades 3-5. She presented along with several other staff developers at the FETC 2007 in Orlando, Florida with Chris Turek. She has conducted technology workshops for principals, assistant principals, teachers, secretaries, and parents to help the school community develop 21st century skills.

Borough Instructional Technology Technician - Staten Island/South Brooklyn

Sherif Mikhail has served the Department of Education as a computer service technician for DIIT and supervising technician for the Title IID grant in region 7. With attentive, patient service and superior technology skills, Mr. Mikhail provides unparallelled support and innovative solutions.
